Emergency Docking Martinique
Year: 2021
Activity: Ship Operations and Technical Superintendency
Role: Technical Superintendent
Vessel had to go in dock because of severe water ingress at the propellor shafts.
Both rudders were removed, both shafts withdrawn, all propellor blade feet were machined, two new stern tube bearings were installed and the whole lot was re-fitted with EAL approved seals.
We managed to do this in a challenging environment, during the holiday season, on an understaffed Shipyard with limited skills and resources. In addition, we delivered within budget and assisted the owner to build the insurance case.
