Marine Masters served as consultant to the Préfet (French representative) on Reunion Island, after tanker Tresta Star was grounded on the shore.
Salvaging with
minimal impact
February 22, 2022 — Tankervessel Tresta Star grounded on the 3rd of February along the east coast of Reunion Island (located in the Indian Ocean), at Tremblet’s Point.
The cause is a tropical cyclone Batsirai, that resulted in the tanker losing power. All 11 crew members were rescued and the tanker was not carrying any cargo at the moment.
Marine Masters offered their consultancy services throughout the operation of salvaging the vessel. Our team of experts assisted the Préfet (government) of the island in relocating the tanker with as minimal impact as possible, both on ship and environment.
