May 29, 2023 — The buoy suffered a partial loss of buoyancy and was suspended in a midwater position. All mooring chains and hoses, subsea and floating, were still connected to the buoy.
Marine Masters provided project management and engineering including the preparation of a robust refloating method. The buoy was lifted just above water level, using a heavy lift vessel, to allow for dewatering of the compartments. It was redelivered to the owners without any structural damage to the buoy and its catenary.
