An extreme weather event in the area of the coal pier in Ashkelon (Israel) resulted in the collapsing of a 1200Mt heavy portal Crane 92 and a 300Mt roadway section with pier structure.
A swift and
diverse mobilization
Juky 3, 2023 — Marine Masters acted as the subcontractor performing all the engineering in house and managing the complete removal operation. The project removal operation was completed without incidents and well within the tight deadline given by the client.
Together with Mer-Terre we were contracted to remove the collapsed crane and bridge sections. Within 3 weeks after the incident took place, Marine Masters mobilized a project team including divers and a 500Mt crane-barge to cut and lift out the collapsed crane and bridge in separate sections up to 200Mt.
